About NEOWATT Ltd

NEOWATT is an Edinburgh-based space-tech company, building the power infrastructure for the space industrial revolution. Space is entering a new phase, with power-hungry missions such as large satellite constellations, in-orbit servicing, orbital data centres, and sustained lunar operations. These systems are fundamentally limited by fixed onboard power budgets that cannot adapt once launched. NEOWATT has designed high-powered lasers to beam power between spacecraft on demand. Our transmitter and specialised receiver allow power to be distributed over tens of kilometres between assets in orbit. This turns power from a fixed design constraint into a flexible operational resource for the emerging orbital economy. Assets can sell surplus power to support compute, manufacture, or servicing, and draw additional power on demand. The same capability enables continuous operations where local solar generation fails, including extended eclipse and the two-week lunar night.
