The Organic Semiconductor Centre (OSC) combines fundamental materials innovation with applications-driven device engineering, to deliver end-to-end R&D in thin film materials and optoelectronics. The OSC offers expertise and facilities include photonic materials development, advanced spectroscopy and optical characterisation; cleanroom fabrication including thin film deposition and nanoimprint lithography; applications-driven device development including OLEDs, lasers, photodiodes, photovoltaics and chemical sensors; hybrid integration of organic materials with silicon and III-V optoelectronics, enabling new functionality for critical technologies. Specialised capabilities include spectroscopy facilities with time-resolved photoluminescence measurements (spanning femtosecond to millisecond timescales); high brightness OLEDs for medical applications and optical communications; and sensors for trace chemical detection for environmental and security applications. The OSCХs portfolio of IP and cross-disciplinary infrastructure positions it as a strategic partner for next generation display, sensing, medical and communication technologies.
