The James Watt School of Engineering has strong capability in design, manufacturing and characterisation of semiconductor devices for a range of applications. It is home to the James Watt Nanofabrication Centre which undertakes fundamental, applied and commercial research, development and small-scale production. My focus is on laser fabrication looking predominantly at GaN, but also GaAs and InP. We are also home to multi-million pounds of equipment for high speed characterisation.
