Located in the Institute of Photonics and Quantum Sciences at Heriot-Watt University, our research concerns the development of versatile ultrafast laser systems and their applications in spectroscopy, metrology and imaging. Key research topics include: Laser frequency combs for astronomy (“astrocombs”) . Broadband coherent mid-infrared spectroscopy . Dual-comb ranging and LiDAR using femtosecond lasers . Compact ultrafast lasers and frequency combs.
