The Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC), part of the University of StrathclydeХs industry-facing innovation ecosystem, is a national whole-energy-systems research, test and demonstration facility operating across two sites near Glasgow. PNDCХs Wardpark Centre accelerates the deployment of novel energy and transport technologies by reducing technical and commercial risk, validating performance, and enabling industry to bring solutions to market faster and with confidence. Core technical strengths span power, heat and transport systems, with specialist capability in energy system digitalisation, cyber security for critical infrastructure, AI-enabled system control, advanced data analytics, and interoperability testing across complex, multi-vector systems. Complementing PNDC, the Advanced Net Zero Innovation Centre (ANZIC), located near Glasgow Airport, provides large-scale, high-power testing for systems critical to net zero, including electric propulsion, renewable integration and aerospace applications. With megawatt-scale power supplies, 1MW+ dynamometers, real-world outdoor test environments and secure, IP-protected facilities, ANZIC bridges the gap between laboratory R&D and commercial deployment, strengthening the UKХs critical technologies supply chain.
