Share your views: Technology Scotland’s Critical Technologies Skills Survey

Scotland’s Critical Technologies Supercluster is continuing to grow, strengthening the country’s capabilities across photonics, quantum, semiconductors, connectivity and sensing.

Supporting that growth will require access to the right skills and talent, both now and in the years ahead. To build a clearer picture of the challenges and opportunities facing organisations across the ecosystem, Technology Scotland, the supercluster’s Cluster Management Organisation, has launched a new Critical Technologies Skills Survey.

The survey is designed to gather insight from organisations working across the Supercluster, helping to identify current and emerging workforce needs across areas including skills gaps, recruitment barriers, international talent, education pathways, upskilling and future technologies.

Taking around 10 minutes to complete, the survey will help establish an important evidence base for Scotland’s critical technologies sector.

Critical Technologies are now recognised as one of the Scottish Government’s Key Strategic Industry Clusters, making it increasingly important that the sector has a clear understanding of the skills required to support future growth and competitiveness.

The findings will help inform future approaches to education, workforce development and government support, while highlighting where action may be needed to strengthen Scotland’s talent pipeline.

Input from organisations of all sizes and across all parts of the Supercluster is important to ensuring the findings reflect the breadth of Scotland’s critical technologies ecosystem.

Organisations working across photonics, quantum, semiconductors, connectivity and sensing are encouraged to take 10 minutes to complete the survey and help shape the future skills needs of the sector.
