Call-Out: Become an Opening Up Photonics Diversity Champion

Opening up Photonics is a platform supporting the Scottish photonics industry to discuss, challenge and address as a community, barriers faced by minority groups, with the aim of increasing accessibility, championing diversity, and ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all.

Women are significantly underrepresented in the fields of photonics and quantum science. Increasing their visibility and participation is crucial for several reasons which we explore in our recent blog, Shining a Light on Equality: Why Gender Diversity Benefits Scotland’s Photonics Industry.

Opening up Photonics (OuP) aims to connect individuals with diverse opportunities for advancing the representation of women in the photonics and quantum fields.

OuP invites people at all levels of the photonics and quantum fields to join the OuP Diversity Champions community and benefit from engaging in opportunities to:
